Amy Sedgwick

Amy is the lead Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner at Red Tent Sisters. She co-founded Red Tent Sisters with her sister Kim Sedgwick in 2007. Amy provides education, group facilitation, private coaching and case management to clients enrolled in Red Tent Sisters’ birth control, fertility and reproductive health programs. Amy currently resides in Nova Scotia, Canada but provides support to clients all over the world via Skype and phone. Born and raised in Toronto, Amy has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto and is a certified Fertility Awareness Professional through Justisse Healthworks for Women.

Amy’s own health journey began after side effects from hormonal birth control nearly destroyed her breastfeeding relationship with her newborn daughter in 2005. Seeking a natural yet effective contraceptive alternative, she turned to the Justisse Method of Fertility Management. Through learning to chart her cycles using the Justisse Method, Amy finally uncovered answers to longstanding health problems – including hypothyroidism, a hidden autoimmune disease, food allergies, and nutrient deficiencies. Through working with her own Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner, she was able to reverse debilitating menstrual symptoms and achieve energy and vitality she hadn’t experienced since her childhood. Since then she has committed herself to helping other women achieve optimal health and avoid the health perils of hormonal contraception, fertility treatments, and autoimmune diseases. She is currently on the faculty of the Justisse College.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys mindfulness photography (Miksang), knitting, reading, and wire-walking.
