What Does Transferversary Mean?

Transferversary is a slang term used to describe the anniversary of the day an embryo (or more) was transferred into a potential parent or surrogate. To some, it is a date celebrated like a birthday to commemorate the equivalent of conception and a potential pregnancy journey.

FertilitySmarts Explains Transferversary

While birthdays are all about the children and celebrating their growth and achievement, a transferversary is for the parents. They can celebrate the moment that becoming parents became a reality. For people undergoing fertility treatments, this moment can denote the end of months or even years of frustration and anxiety and therefore have a great deal of significance and emotion.

The term can be applied to any type of embryo transfer, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), donor egg IVF, surrogacy, or donor embryo transfer.
