Here at FertilitySmarts, our goal is to help people understand their fertility and to normalize discussion around fertility-related experiences. From cervical mucus to struggles with infertility, we talk openly about it all! We know we are not alone in this goal and think that one great way to help bring these topics into the mainstream is to shine a spotlight on all the fantastic bloggers who share their personal journeys with fertility issues, or their professional expertise in the field. That’s why we built the Top Fertility Blog Directory, which uses five pieces of information to build a comprehensive list of the best fertility bloggers the web has to offer.

Why We Built the Fertility Blogger Directory

We know that fertility-related topics can be deeply personal and that dealing with infertility can be a lonely experience. At the same time, we think connection can be incredibly valuable. We wanted to make it easier to find the bloggers who are putting themselves and their experiences out there to connect with a supportive audience. We also wanted to make it easier for readers to find bloggers writing from a specific viewpoint or experience that speaks to their particular situation.

This led us to create a friendly, welcoming space to highlight the best fertility bloggers we could find. It takes courage to blog about personal experiences like dealing with infertility, and we think this should be celebrated.

Ranking Factors – The Quantitative Data Sources

A long list of blog names can leave you feeling a little unsure about where to even start. We wanted to provide metrics to help you understand how audiences are interacting with each blog. In building out our system, we went to a number of trusted outside data services for metrics. These are listed at the top of the directory, but here is a screen shot.

Our back-end system polls these third-party data services at regular intervals to update info on each blogger in the database. These services can be roughly grouped in two categories: social media and site popularity.
